This movie for instance (Sin Nombre, 2009)… – I saw a documentary piece on The New York Times website yesterday…
…about the exact same scenario that is depicted in the movie (people from Honduras trying to make it to the US) it had the exact same places as the movie that I’m re-watching right now and to be honest = absolutely nothing has changed.
It has the same environments, same everything…. Exactly the same (to be honest I was a bit shocked, I mean 6 years have passed and nothing has changed, probably it has only gotten worse there – the immigration police, the gangs, living conditions and etc…)
But still, even through the difficulties people are still trying to go through this insanely difficult journey and reach the “Promise Land”. The most obvious question still remains: Why? Why go through all of that? Is it really worth it? Is there no other way?
For them, the people that decide to undertake this certainly impossible journey, the answer is a most definite “yes”.
