Timeless Gems

It’s funny how you start re watching some movies from your past, something that wasn’t on your mind for a long time, you weren’t even going to think about it, something forgotten…

Life goes on as per usual, then along comes some sort of a reminder, a mention somewhere, a picture, a similarity in a name or some concept that reminds you a film. You think to yourself, hmmm – Oh yeah! I know where I’ve seen this before (light bulb!), you make a mental note to watch it later and when you actually do, you immerse yourself not only in the picture, story and characters (actors – that play them). But into something much more deeper, you dive into that films period in your life. Where you saw it, who you saw it with, what was happening in your life at that moment. You follow the storyline, no matter how bad or good it is, you don’t seem to care or notice – how dated the special effects seem, you find yourself thinking that this movie is a timeless gem.

When the movie is over and you see the titles, a small feeling of sadness is there. A part of you knows that time has passed and only these memories remain.
